Maryland Rules for renewal:
If you have over the required amount in any one category (i.e., 4 Ethics) you can apply the 1 extra CEU towards your massage related category (the other 17 hours).
To renew a massage license in Maryland, you are required to have 24 CEs every 2 years.
---A minimum of 3 CEU hours in professional ethics, jurisprudence, or risk management;
---A minimum of 3 CEU hours in communicable diseases including HIV/AIDS
---A minimum of 1 hour of diversity or cultural competency
CEU courses that are not acceptable include courses outside the scope of practice for massage therapists/practitioners or courses dealing with insurance, practice building, or other money-making courses.
(Any LMT or RMP with an initial license or registration which was first issued less than 12 months before the biennial renewal, is exempt from CEU requirement. But must still renew the license or registration issued.)
