Initial Licensing:  A massage therapist licensed outside of Pennsylvania with 500 hours of massage education may use continuing education (including online CEs) to reach the 600 hours required when seeking a Pennsylvania license.  Please verify with Pennsylvania they will accept these in your situation.

National Certification Renewal:  National certification renewal (NCBTMB) is a separate function from state license renewal. You can complete all of your CEs for the NCBTMB online with us.

State License Renewal:  Each state has separate continuing education rules. Our current understanding of Pennsylvania requirements is:

Continuing education hours: 24 every 2 years

(a minimum of 4 hours of ethics is required)

Online: 8

You may take your online CEs with us

"Licensees renewing after January 1, 2015, are required to complete 2 hours of Board-approved continuing education in child abuse recognition and reporting requirements as a condition of renewal."

Persons renewing for the first time may be able to request a waiver of the CE requirement from the Board.
